I’ve started documenting the journey of building CLB Builds from the ground up — not because I have it all figured out, but because I don’t.
I want people to see what building a company actually looks like: the wins and the mistakes, the hard decisions and the hiring process, the systems we put in place, the customer relationships, the setbacks, and the moments that remind you why you started in the first place.
Social media has a way of making success look instant. A business seems to appear out of nowhere, and suddenly everyone assumes the founder knew exactly what they were doing all along. That’s almost never true. Every successful company is built on thousands of small decisions that nobody sees — and I’m choosing to show mine.
When I make a mistake, I’ll talk about it. If I find a better way to do something, I’ll share it. If a system saves us time, improves quality, or creates a better experience for our customers, you’ll see it being built, not just the finished result.
My goal isn’t to convince anyone I’m perfect. My goal is to create something real, so that years from now I can look back on this journey and see every lesson, every challenge, and every milestone that shaped the company.
I also hope it helps other business owners. Too many entrepreneurs feel like they’re the only ones facing uncertainty, tough hiring calls, cash flow concerns, customer issues, or the pressure of building something meaningful. They’re not.
Building a business is messy. It’s challenging. It’s incredibly rewarding. And it’s worth documenting.
CLB Builds is more than a construction company. It’s becoming a case study in how systems, discipline, customer service, and continuous improvement can create an organization that doesn’t depend on one person. That’s the company I’m building.
From this point forward, you’re invited to watch it happen — not just the highlights, but the whole story.
